The quiet return of Alain Andre Durant

My dear friends, associates, and ladies and gentlemen,
I sincerely apologize for my sudden departure to the countryside, without warning, I was taken by heart palpitations of a rather serious nature. Simmonnet insisted I return to her father's estate to rest and destress allowing my heart to strengthen and recover. Unfortunately, this did not free me from danger as a plague roamed through the masses. Some called it Colin, Coran, Covid, I'm not sure as it kept me in such a state during my recovery I was not even aware of day or night. But alas, Simmonnet has nursed me through and I am stronger for both heart and lungs.
So with my recovery, I have returned to Paris, milady beside me. But I see there have been changes in my absence.
First let me express my deepest condolences to Lady Rigel d'Blancheur and her daughter Tristesse. Sieur d'Blancheur was a friend and a good man. He will be missed.
Second, I see that Monsieur Balls has opened a competing enterprise in my arena of expertise. A little competition never hurt anyone. In fact, it is the heart of advancement in commerce. I will soon be expanding Durant's to further assist the kind ladies and gentlemen of Paris and to service my loyal customers at a 25% discount.
Third, I see romance has been in the air and produced a baby boom. Congratulations to all ! Please come by the shoppe. Newlyweds and newly-parents will likewise receive a 25% discount.
Let us hope we can improve upon where we were a few months ago when I was suddenly taken. The kindness and expertise of Durant's will remain and surpass previous expectations.
