Comte Hullame Lagarde de Bearne,
Mon Colonel
I was saddened to see the Regiment was not accepted for service this coming Season, I had looked forward to doing what little I could to cheer the lads on.
Alas, I now find that I must depart on Mission instead, but please be reassured, wherever I go, whatever my title may be, should you cut my skin you will find I bleed the Royal Foot Guard.
Your servant Father Gerard Chatten Regimental Chaplain Royal Foot Guard
(I'm assuming that because its a post not a rank GC loses regimental chaplain when he goes on mission)

Father Gérard,
well, the Royal Equerry is a prudent man who does not like not to see the whole Guards arround His Majesty, and I have to assume he knows better than myself about this...
I'm sad to know about your departure, but I understand you must follow Lors's dictates where they take you, and spreading his word is a duty of the Company of Jesus. Can I know where will you go in your mission?
Wherever it be, I wish you well in your missionary duties
Yours in Christ Captain Lagarde, RFG
PS:I guess you have not been explained well the Military protocol, but despite being the Commander of the guards, my rank keeps as Captain, not Colonel

Capain Lagarde,
The Mission itself is to the West of Africa. Followers of the false prophet are spreading their vile heresy in the region, and I must report on the situation to the Ecclesiastical authorities. There are also rumours that local tribes trade in more than mere commodities, and wage war on one another to procure human commodities with souls to trade as slaves. I do intend also to keep Paris informed of what I witness, and will contact the Editor of La Voix to ensure you get a copy of any edition containing my letters as soon as they are available.
As to my Military Knowledge, alas it is sadly lacking. Perhaps on my return I should seek to remedy this at the Academy? I may be a humble son of a landowner, and I may be committing a sin, but after a little taste of the Guard, well - a boy can dream eh?
Your servant Father Gerard
