OOC: Week 1
Up to two witness for both sides (prosecution and defense) will be admitted, if there's too many it's highest SL witnesses first!
Witnesses must make themselves known through the press or to the GM. They must be of an equal or higher SL than the accused, and may not be from the same, friendly or enemy regiment. They must spend that week's action attending the trial, and may not remain anonymous.

It's worth noting that if the City Governor of Paris is a PC they'll decide guilt or innocence, although advocate abilities will still affect any sentence!

To the prosecution and the defense:
Would you be willing to move the trial to the second week of September? With the possibility of being appointed to the Governor of Paris and the Titling Ceremony in Week 1 I would ask your indulgence to be able to fully participate in both. As no witnesses have come forward yet, Sam says that only the prosecutor and the defendant need to agree to the reschedule (CPS is represented by a PC so does not need to be at the trial).

I purposed to Sam to run the slander trial in the Forums as an RP event to give us something to do while he is moving. I agreed to withhold announcing a decision (should I be appointed Governor) until the September orders are published but it might be fun to present evidence, question witnesses, and argue the case in the meantime.
We have a PC as the prosecutor and Jacques (the player not the PC) could play the defending attorney although Sam suggested that having someone else play the role to involve more players.

I agree let’s role play the slander trial. Should you not make your appointment Sam could resolve the RP with a role on tables as he would normally. Shall we run it as a thread in Gentleman’s Communications
Cliff/Jacques/Henri (the wrongfully accused)

I am highly likely to offline by the time this concludes I suspect!
However, what I can do is give an uninvolved player the results to release when the time comes. (Even if Jacques ends up presiding, the lawyer rolls still affect the jury decided punishment!)
If people would prefer, I'm happy to have the full results of this known before the rest of the turn rather than you playing out the trial, rather than making you all wait for ages afterwards.
The big question here is who is presiding. I'll message Renald to find out if he's going for Governor of Paris (I'm pretty sure Hulluame has confirmed he's not).
If he isn't, give people a chance to spend influence and then quickly make the roll for Jacques application which will let us know whether a trial roll will be happening!

Huillaume will not apply for any governorship (Paris included),and will not intervene in the trial once the accusation is presented. After all he cannot witness and his presence is not needed there.

On behalf of the prosecution, I agree to moving the trial to Week 2 so as not to interfere with the Royal Ball.

So the thread for the trial will be here or in the "Gentlemanly Communications"-area?

I will start a new thread in the "Gentlemanly Communications" forum for the RP of the trial. I will continue to use this thread for OOC discussions on the trial.

I think you're all ready to go and I can hand the RP over to you now.
JBO is the judge.
Both Henri and Auguste have secretly been sent the results of their lawyer skill rolls to rp.
Jason knows what the jury result is in the situation where Henri has been found guilty and will be playing the foreman of the jury.
