I don't know about anyone else, but I found the deep editing of the military rules much more effective than just trying to pick out random issues, so I'm going to gradually do it for all the rulebook.
I think this one will be straightforward.

Introduction rewritten. No rules here, so we can likely to it reasonably quickly. Changes. An added bit for specific dedications. I think everyone will agree that Gaston's contributions to the rulebook should be recognised. An explanation of how I see En Garde! Good if you're a fan of pontificating about game design goals and can be debated if that's your thing. Everyone else can safely ignore it. It makes no difference to you how I see EG! in design terms! A revised IC/OOC policy. Be warned, I've gone more hardline on this. This is the only thing I think may be controversial as it's quite a different approach than most games take. I've explained my reasoning in the rules but obviously I'm happy to explain in more detail and discuss it if people would like. Introduction.odt (24.32 KB) Introduction.pdf (82.08 KB)

Done this up to Support now. There were very few mechanical changes, it was largely about reordering things to make them flow in a more natural order. And, notably, the rules for starting languages are now here rather then in the spies area. Only significant changes: The NMR rules now cover careers that aren't church or military. "Parking" is now explained properly. Languages rules have been fleshed out a bit. Merchants now start with two languages and Nobles only one. (Nobles who have already chosen two won't suddenly forget one). There are now some simple rules for learning languages. Note that I've gone for playability over realism here in terms of the time it takes to become fluent. Character Gen and Support.pdf (103.38 KB) Character Gen and Support.odt (25.81 KB)
