CALLING ALL PHILANTHROPISTS AND LOVERS OF ART I seek a sponsor for a volume of poetry, which shall be published in the second half of March. For only a little coin, sufficient to meet my needs as I write, I will name you the commissioner of the work, with all the status due to such. If you attended Monsieur Laurent's soiree at Hunter's Club in January, you may have seen an example of my art. Rest assured that the charcoal sketch of Paris was but a taste of my ability, quickly dashed off to be ready for the party. As it would be foolish to expect even a benevolent patron of arts to commission a work unseen, I present a poem from the upcoming volume, inspired by the events of Monsieur Laurent's party, entitled "A Rondel for Eloise": Do not ask her why Two men must cross their blades, And in a sun-drenched glade One of them must die;
Men whom for her favors sigh And the greatest price have paid; Do not ask her why Two men must cross their blades.
Their honor will be weighed When flashing sword reply; And beauteous Eloise shall sigh When suitor to rest be laid Do not ask her why. [OOC: This is considered a 4-week Work of Art, and will be completed in Week 1 or Week 2 of March. It will net the commissioner 4-6 SP, so it's a great way to get a pretty big bump in SP. It does require that it be displayed at a time of your choosing (a no-cost action during a week either at your club or at a party you host). I request that Aurele be invited to attend (and toady, if higher SL), with payment to be negotiated.]

Sir,
I would be happy to provide you the funds to cover reasonable costs to allow you to complete your book. Being somewhat of an artist myself, I look forward to seeing the result of your endeavor.
Sincerely, Captain Raoul Jardin
[OOC: let me know how much funding you need]

Monsieur Delecroix,
While normally I would offer my wallet, I feel at this point it could be seen by some as self-serving. I would welcome the opportunity at a future juncture for Mademoiselle Eloise and myself to savor your words, and would be happy to continue our relationship when the topic matter is a little more removed from ourselves.
Sincerely, Jean-Pierre Laurent

Monsieur Laurent,
Please rest assured I understand the delicacy of your current situation Perhaps Fate will be so kind as to allow us to be of benefit to each other in the future. Until then, I wish you luck in your upcoming duel- I have always found it a rather barbaric tradition, but perhaps I simply have not had occasion to defend my honor.
Until such time as Fate smiles upon us, I remain
Your Svt.,
Aurele Delacroix
