Victory BallDisturbing news from Court is that His Majesty is still plagued by the mystery illness which struck last month and that all Court Events for September will once more be cancelled. Given that this will mean that there is no Royal welcome for those brave soldiers who have served so steadfastly over the Spring and Summer campaigns, at the behest of my lady wife I have decided to open the doors of my new chateau, l'Hotel d'Estrées on la Rue Barbette, in order to host a Victory Ball to celebrate their sterling service. Part of the proceedings will be the premier performance of the Judgement of Paris Suite, a musical piece which Lady Helen has commissioned from Signorina Leonora Baroni. Court etiquette will be observed and refreshments, music and dancing will be arranged for all ladies and gentlemen of quality (though dancing is by no means obligatory). The only toast which will be countenanced, however, shall be " Good Health to His Majesty and Perdition to His Enemies!" Roland Gorne
Vicomte de Graville [OOC: Helen Gorne-Bacque's husband, Vicomte Roland Gorne (SL 16) will host a ball at his Parisian Chateau in week 4 of September for all of SL 10+ and their ladies, those officers returning from the front especially welcome. Carousing (though not Roistering) costs paid, etiquette checks for all and dancing checks for the dancers.]
