The Director of the Theatre Royal, Viscomte Balls, welcomes the New Year with two new plays.
Pseudolus will be performed at the Johi Theatre, featuring the Archduke's Men. The play is a farce set in Ancient Rome. Pseudolus is a slave who wants his freedom more than anything. He makes a deal with his master, named Hero -- if Pseudolus gets Hero's lady love to marry him, Hero will free Pseudolus in gratitude. The trouble is the woman, Philia, is a lady of easy virtue who has been promised to General Miles Gloriosus. The obstacles in the way provide for hilarity, and in the end, all is resolved.
In February, the Good Doctor will be performed at the Theatre Royal by the Balls Players. This is a comedy based on the adventures of Bastien De'Ath, the physician who cut such a swathe in Parisian society before it all went sour. Lord Balls was a close friend who saw the Doctor at his best and at his worst. It promises to be quite an evening.

Dear Auguste,
my lovely Charlotte enjoys the theatre so much we intend to come to the opening nights of both of these plays. They sound like they will be very entertaining
We would very much like to meet everyone afterwards at the opening night party
