Darlings,
I think it's now time for me to host my first 'official' party next month, October 1637, and I'd love to invite you all.
However, what with me being new in Paris, I haven't really met many of you in person yet so I'm just checking who'd be up for attending? Week yet to be decided, depending on checking the Government / Royal schedules.
Sooooo....let me know if you'd be keen to come along and I'll sort out the rest.

as a recent newcomer to Paris myself it is a welcome opportunity to meet new people.
Perhaps we bumped into each other at Lord Balls' party?
I may not have remembered as I am often engaged in thoughts of military matters. Maybe you met my lovely Charlotte?
I am quite busy in October, but could be available in week 3.
It would give you an opportunity to apologise for your personal comments about me that have been brought to my attention. Then we could maybe move forward in friendship

You don't want to go listening to idle gossip darling, some of these ladies will say anything to get a bit of attention! May I reassure you that I've nothing but admiration for you soldier fellows, smart uniforms, brave character, majestic horses, bags of loot, medals etc, in fact, I don't mind telling you that it's always been a bit of a secret fantasy of mine to have a soldier as a beau......giggle...oh, aren't I awful telling a stranger this....but, do you know, Norbert - may I call you Norbert -....I feel like we've known each other for years, I couldn't help myself keep looking at you when we attended Lord Balls's Party. How truly manly you looked in your dashing uniform, proud bearing, shapely muscles.....oh, makes a girl so faint....giggle.... As for this Charlotte woman you mention, never heard of her, is she a sister or cousin? Actually, talking of your family, I'd love to hear more about them and you as well. I have my own home you know, a quaint little place and very discrete, away from the throngs and if someone were to come along to pay a visit I'd doubt anyone would see them either come or leave. Sweethearts,
It's seems I've been upstaged by Lord de Bearne....hrrrmpph!! Most ungentlemanly when he surely knows it's the first party I am hosting in Paris and I was soooo looking forward to people coming along...but...now...all I see before me is an empty table, chairs unfilled, laughter bereft.....simply the sound of silence (well, aside from my tears and sobs that is!).
Well, it appears I have no choice other than to cancel my plans, pack away all the silverware and crockery, send back the fancy gifts I was intending to lavish upon my guests, tell the charcuterie I won't be needing those prime steaks, send a message to the vineyard etc etc...oh, the pain of rejection...the shame.....how could Lord de Bearne have done this to poor me.....wail...sob...snivel...
