Johi Theatre in August

The Balls Players will be in rehearsals this month for the August opening of August Balls' latest farce, From Russia with Love.

The Viscomte has set his latest bawdy farce in far off Russia, where the aging Count Dmitry is preparing his will and deciding which of his children get what. The maid, Olga Legova plots with the butler, Pavel Buggerov, to get more than their share. They plot to marry Olga to Dmitry, and as the Countess, she can take a large portion of the estate and share with her lover Pavel. When Dmitry's children Yuri and Marina find out, they hatch a plot to show Dmitry the ill-will of his servants. A grand masque ball is arranged and through a series of mistaken identities, costume failures and the faked death of the Count, the conniving servants are uncovered.

Owing to scheduling difficulties, the Johi Theatre will remain dark in July and August. The Premier of From Russia with Love will be in the Autumn.

I look forward to the opening of the new play from the Johi Theatre, it will bring some welcome interlude from the horrors of war.
