As the great men of French culture, your presence would elevate the event in the minds not only of the public but more importantly the French nobility, and by extension, all European royalty and nobility.
I am fully aware of the great demands made on your time by the pressing business of state, and therefore, I would entirely understand if you are unable to attend.
