I humbly implore your Majesty to grant a boon to your most devoted servant. Should Lord Hullaume Lagarde de Bearne not appoint me as Secretary of State then may I serve, at your pleasure, in a lesser post? Your Majesty, please consider appointing me as Provincial Governor of Provence. Should that not please Your Majesty then perhaps Military Governor of Paris would?
