Celeste Ludenburg - La Gallerie Veritie
Bonjour, my fellow seekers of darkness. I have some exciting news for you.
I believe we may have just seen the work of the next Grand Artistic Master of Europe. A bold claim? Perhaps. But I am not one for exaggeration.
Our tale starts with an invitation to an "art showing" from Lord de la Azur. So far, so typical. Naturally, my presence is requested at many such events. I try to make as many of these smaller gatherings as I can, but I am only one (admittedly talented) woman.
It was good to see that His Grace Lord Maximilian recognises the importance of artistic endeavors to the spiritual nourishment of Paris, graciously agreeing to act as guest of honour. And I was impressed by the fine fare laid on by Lord de la Azur, if only slightly disappointed by his humble living.
But "Spring", the piece. Ah, it was so glorious, it is hard to put into words. A fantasy so real I could have been there, with the satyrs and fauns. (Although not frolicking. I do not frolic). Every leaf, every blade of grass, every faun hair, carefully and exquisitely detailed. This is not your standard painting, my dark angels.
This is the start of Azurism, a new art movement. All that is needed is a few more paintings and I shall be proven right. I am proud to remind you that I was the first critic to notice Lord de la Azur, back when he was a man of the sword.

Horse Racing News
The Paris Derby is always an unpredictable event and this was no exception, with several favourites falling short of previous performance and more unknown quantities peforming impressively.
It was also a star studded event, with His Majesty choosing to spend the day in the company of Lords Lagarde de Bearne and Bougiedure, while Archduke Maximilian preferred the somewhat more earthy company of Monsieur Balls and Sieur De'Ath.

Reports from the Front by General Georges Boulle (rtd.)
Not bad, overall. Puts us in decent shape for the Summer. Good to see.
Spanish Frontier
Enemy seems to be getting tired. Probably preserving their strength for the Summer campaign.
Flanders Frontier
Garrison all month. Nothing to report here.
Lorraine Frontier
The enemy didn't dare to try anything. Glad to say that we're starting to see the benefits of investment.
Savoy Frontier
Excellent command from the army commander and Lord Bougiedure this month, but sadly unable to fully capitalise on it. Still, the effects of swamping the enemy with numbers bore fruit, leading to them abandoning the field. Some impressive fighting from Private Baucher, who drove fear into the heart of the enemy. Unfortunately, Captain L'opital's famous bravery led to him falling. News reaches us he's still alive, but in a foreign jail.
Promotion: Jacques Bougiedure
Mention in Dispatches:: Jacques Bougiedure, Jean Baucher
Captured: Maurice L'opital
Next month:
Spanish Frontier HL 6 Skirmishing Field
Flanders Frontier HL 3 On Alert Field
Lorraine Frontier HL 2 Garrison Garrison
Savoy Frontier HL 3 At Peace Garrison
