Small rules change suggestion.
I'm thinking that PCs over SL 19 should count as "grandees" for the sake of giving bonuses to private parties, theatre shows they attend etc.
Obviously, this doesn't give you a bonus to things you're hosting.
What do people think?

What would that mean, for those characters and for anyone whose party they attend?

As a gaming concept, there are good arguments for this. The devil is in the details though. Perhaps a Grandee would some kind of SP multiplier. For instance, AUB has a play on, from which he would realize 10 SP for the sake of argument. A grandee attending might result in the SPs being multiplied by 1.25 or even 1.5. Giving AUB 13 or 15. Had the SPs for the show been 5, AUB would realize 7-9.

I was looking at something even simpler.
Grandee PCs count as two PCs for the sake of the play attendance bonus.
With private parties: "A Grandee attending the Dinner Party gives a bonus 3 SP to all guests and 5 SP to the host"
Grand Balls they give a straight +1 to the success roll, same as any other grandee

Your approach is going to be easier to implement and I like it
