Obviously, this isn't meant to cover everything. Just random highlights of cool things the new rulebook allows you to do.
Careers (References varies)
We have extended rules for some careers and some entirely new careers. As well as army, clergy and artist you can now be a musician, a spy, a doctor, a lawyer, a professional playwright or an actor. For any of these, if you're interested in a specific one best to IM me!
Languages (36.37)
Think I should bring this into character gen, but many of you now are allowed to choose additional languages.
Peasants only get one if they come from one of the border provinces (in which case they may speak either Spanish, Dutch, German or Italian).
Merchants and gentlemen get one extra language and Nobles get two.
The available languages are:
English (England), Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Portugal), Italian (Savoy, Papacy, Naples), German (Austria, Brandenberg), Dutch (Holland) and Swedish (Sweden).
For RP languages not on those list you can have them for free with gm approval. (All doctors and priests will get Latin for free etc.)
At the moment this only has an effect on the spying rules, but it's likely to be expanded to other areas where it makes sense.
Liaisons (8.10)
Those of you looking for something more casual and cheaper than a mistress now have the option for a fling. Bonus points for using this with other people's mistresses.
Visiting Mistress' Family (8.16)
This can make it more likely your mistress agrees to marry you and they may even give you gifts. On the other hand, they may hate you.
Pistol Duels (11.0)
Another deadly option for duels. Interestingly, some characters may be good with pistols but hopless with swords and vice versa.
Appointments 24.0
Lots of new ones here to give more options.
Horse Racing 29.0
You'll hopefully have seen the racehorse auction. But even for people without the resources to own a racehorse, there will be events etc. here.
Skullduggery 31.0
There are now more ways to screw over your enemy PCs.
Family 32.0
You can now go visit your family and try and scrounge money from them. Or family members might pass away!
Cloak and Daggers 36.0
You can work for intelligence agencies or just gather secrets for the highest bidder. (If this appeals, this is definitely something to let me know sooner rather than later).
That's just some very brief highlights. Any questions feel free to ask. Hope other people are enjoying the new options; it feels like Liminal is much closer to the game I want it to be now!
