My dear Father William,
I was heartened to hear that your recent illness is now resolved, if only cousin Bastian had still been here in Paris I'm sure he could have attended to you and sorted matters out earlier.
Now, pardon my forwardness, but I can't help but wonder what with you and I both being currently 'unattached' what opportunity avails for the pair of us to remedy the situation. Of course, there is the small matter of you being a man of the cloth but such 'obstacles' are merely of a temporal nature and history is awash with those who have made the move from the constraints of the priesthood to a non secular path, indeed did not the son of a Pope, Alexander VI, i.e. Cardinal Cesare Borgia throw off said mantle and become a famous figure in Italian Renaissance history....he did! Ok, so things went a tad skewwhiff at the end but that was just ill fortune.
I have my own place, you know, quite a nice place if my add, very discrete, away from prying eyes etc and my diary for the coming month has a few open weeks. Why not come along to share a few glasses of champagne, enjoy a chat....to start off....who knows what else we can share...?
Yours invitingly,
Monique Adelina De'Ath

That public invite is, by definition, indiscrete?

That public invite is, by definition, indiscrete? Cher Helpful Soul, Well, ok, there may be some who view it as such but, of course, I could merely have been just a little playful, after all I got a little over tipsy while attending Lord Balls's kind invite to the Fleur and so it could well have been the champagne talking there! Yes, that's it, it was the drink that did it and it's well known that we ladies are more susceptible to the influence of 'the grape' than men, sweet, innocent, little kittens that we are and any true gentleman would recognise such and forgive us for any unintended 'indiscretion'. I'm sure that Fr William, being the kind Priest that he is, would do the same. In fact, he would probably seek to come around to see me at my home to check out that I am ok and then stay for a while to pray for me and administer any additional ministry that he feels in required..... God bless you for your observation and notification anyway, much appreciated. Monique Adelina De'Ath P.S Who are you by the way? You sound as if you might be a decent sort, perhaps you'd like to come and visit me to, after Fr William has been and gone, we could have a chat and get to know each other better.

To: Fr William,
I have trusted you as my Confessor, heaped past praise upon you and extolled your spiritual virtues BUT....BUT.....what is this I hear..??!! Who is this Mlle de Marais?
Did I not extend a most polite and friendly offer for you to visit me at my home last month, to administer to my spiritual needs and to enjoy some light refreshments so that we could get to know each other better? This was met by the response...and I quote -
"I am, madam, most likely going to be away for the Season ministering to the men at the front!"
Perhaps you might choose to explain yourself and how ministering to the men has now turned into whispering tongues about your liaisons with this de Marais woman?! Were her needs genuinely greater than mine? Do you believe she is more beautiful and deserving than I? Am I not a loyal and devoted servant of Christ, far more devoted than her!
Monique Adelina De'Ath A lady of Class and Refinement who is now seriously contemplating her choice of Personal Confessor!

Mlle De'Ath,
I placed my fate in the hands of He who made us all. I expected to be at the front, but He chose otherwise. The virtuous Mlle de Marais is less likely to tempt me into an indiscretion than yourself. A man such as myself must place much emphasis on a choice of companion.
I cannot compare devotion between you.
I am sorry that this has upset you, but perhaps that it has proves my point?
