To: The People of Paris and all Officers & Officials of the Crown
Let is be known that I am issuing arrest warrants for Nicholas Lyon (Minister of Foreign Affairs) & Pierre Séguier (Minister of War). These two are traitors to His Majesty and agents of a foreign power, thus the charge against them both is Treason!
Documents that I discovered amongst the private papers of Pierre Séguier clearly show his guilt and I had these in my possession until they were seized by those fools in Burgundy who were duped into arresting me (!) by Lyon & Séguier who I very much suspect now will be seeking to flee Paris having learned of my escape from false imprisonment. As you read this notice I am already en route, with all due haste, back to Paris whereat I shall be mustering all Public Safety employees to join in the apprehension of the said traitors.
If you see these two at large then I herewith give you my full authority to arrest and detain them, deliver them to the Bastille or to a suitable Crown Official / Military Officer immediately. Anyone who does so is guaranteed both immunity from any legal action Séguier and Lyon may seek to take against them AND I will pay a 1000 crowns reward to whoever captures them.
Good people, rest assured traitors like this will not go unpunished, they have sought to bring chaos to France and destabilise His Majesty's Government. I shall be seeking the very strongest penalty under law, let justice be done!
