People of Paris, and, more widely France.
Since the Viscomte de Ploërmel, Lord Bastian Anton De'Ath, moved on from his role looking after Public Health this area of public concern has been handled with less skill. The Viscomte performed those duties well, saving many from the ill-effects of their sins. But more, the health of the City, and Nation, were improved.
The Viscomte should be thanked for his work, and perhaps the King and his Government can find a way of reappointing him to take care of this new emergency that only he can resolve!
Let us all pray for The Viscomte!

Father William, The Almighty has clearly marked you for a glorious future within the Church, your wise words bring comfort to us all, especially the poor and less fortunate who suffer more due to their circumstances. I hear that some of these wretches have been seen gathering at the Marketplace, in parks and outside of several government buildings crying out in their despair that the present Commissioner for Public Health step down as he is not competent enough for the job and the people wish me to return to the role to save the City. Now that the Church too, in the form of your holy and blessed self, has stepped forward adding it's voice to the clamour I feel it is time for me to act! No longer can I deny the will of the people, no more can I close my ears to their entreaties, Paris needs me and I shall heed the call. To be honest I'm not really enjoying this whole Secretary of State thing anyway, it's quite tedious and dull, a seemingly never ending mass of papers and reports to process, drab meetings to attend and a variety of cantankerous old Ministers to deal with - excluding my Lords Bougiedure & de Bearne, of course, both sterling fellows who help to bring some 'Ommphh' to proceedings - and it's enough to drive a man crazy listening to their drivel. It may be a sin Father, perhaps I really ought to mention it at my next confessional, but I find the easiest way to keep a clear desk is just to chuck the whole lot away. No-one seems to notice and it's soon replaced by another pile so what the hell (ooops, sorry!) into the bin it goes or that nice attendant fellow, what did he say his name was....Juan...Jorge....something like that.....seems happy to gather it all up and take it away for free. So, in summary Father, leave it with me, I shall start making preparations with immediate effect as who am I to deny the wishes of Church or populace even though it may require a short delay until the Commissioner's post becomes available once again in February. I would seek to ask the Commissioner of Public Safety to intervene and have the Commissioner for Public Health arrested upon the grounds of being a national threat to security by allowing this desperate situation to arise but we all know the CPS is equally hapless so little point in pursuing that particular avenue. What's more I can't help but notice that the post for Director of the State Lottery is up for renewal this coming month and if this was run properly I can help myself to a few livres as the expenses for a man of my status are ridiculous and I need a new carriage, house, a new wardrobe etc the people would have a realistic chance of securing some decent winnings that will help brighten their lives and allow them to employ my services direct. Yes, I feel a few months sorting out the State Lottery will be sensible and then a return to the CPH post. Sincere regards, Viscomte Bastian Anton De'Ath Premier (and popular) physician to the people of Paris Secretary of State Past holder of many important posts
