"Well, it was a right commotion, apparently Docteur De'Ath, you know that lovely premier physician to the people of Paris, the really popular fellow, he was seen chasing along the road a servant of the Duc de Chevreuse, haranguing and shouting at him and, it was rumoured, even striking the poor man with his medicine bag"!
"Gosh, really!! That doesn't sound like the good docteur, there must have been a valid reason? Perhaps that servant had been rude to him as it couldn't be Docteur De'Ath's fault".
"I hear it's all over an invite to the Royal Ball this month, it seems the Duc de Chevreuse has been sending out lots of invites but the servant didn't deliver one to Docteur De'Ath and so the docteur challenged that servant and berated him for clearly having lost his invite".
"How terrible, that's just sooo wrong I'm mean why would the Duc de Chevreuse employ a useless oaf like that? The docteur was right to give him a blow or two and let's hope the Duc gets to hear about it and ensures a fresh invite is sent out immediately".
"Yes, it is only fitting that the Royal Ball is graced with Docteur De'Ath's presence, he is a Chevalier after all and the Royal Executioner, oh plus the family docteur to many important people. Word has it he is soon to be Commissioner for Public Safety too"!
"Hurrah, how marvelous lets give three cheers for Docteur De'Ath girls he's simply wonderful...hip hip...hooray etc etc"
