Look for example this young Duc de l'Hopital. I may understand after being released from being a prisoner he wants to celebrate it, but, by God's sake, he has not yet buried his father.. And inviting Prince Gaston means it will not be precisely a dry party where decency will be kept...
Frankly, I prefer to think he's so sad he needs to drink to forget about his grief, but he could at least keep the facade of keeping some mourning, as others who lost beloved ones, be them parents or wife, have done...

My own father passed a few months ago and did people see me blubbing and all downcast?! No....err...well about losing that monthly allowance maybe...but for father's shuffling off of this mortal coil most definitely not as I'm sure he, like most father's, would have wanted his son to raise a glass instead of grief ridden hands to heaven.
