The Guards march to war

To rank and file of the Royal Foot Guards:

having obtained permission ro mthe ROyal Equerry, the 1^st and 4^th Companies must be read y on June 1^st to march towards the Flanders border, where we'll help the frontier Regiment o nthe siege they are keeping agains the Habsburg troops.

The nd and 3rd Companies wil lremain in Paris, under the temporary command of Brigadier General Baron Bonnet. THey're ordered to coordinate with the King's Musketeers to keep the Guard duties in the Kingdom's Capital.

Mon cher Marquis Lagarde,

An inspiring communication! It is at times like this that I wish I'd been more of a military man in order that I could march amongst comrades to war and to glory!

Unfortunately there are those of us for whom such splendors must pass us by and all we can do is to cheer from the sidelines and help to contribute to the civilian side of life and maintaining the norm back in Paris. Still, such is life, and you all leave with our best wishes and good fortune ringing in your ears.

Oh, and I almost forgot, should you chance upon any enemy booty at the Front I'm in the process of setting up a institution to provide medical care for the poor and needy of Paris so if you can spare any livres afterwards it would be most welcome to aid with the costs of establishing this most fine and noble provision for the poor.
