Mon cherie Gisla,
Firstly, I must say what a simply sound and sensible decision you have made in becoming my romantic companion, a most splendid choice and I'm sure you'll look back upon this, in the years ahead, to realise this was the turning point in your life.
Just think, dearest, you are now the partner of Sieur Bastian Anton De'Ath, a Chevalier of France, Paris's Premier (and popular) Physician, the Royal Executioner and a man, a great man, who is destined for glory! Through this partnership with me you will see your own standing soar, it won't be long before the rich and famous come flocking to lavish parties that we'll host, people will speak with awe when mentioning the De'Ath name and I wouldn't be at all surprised if you become personally acquainted to His Majesty and Her Majesty as it's written in my destiny that I shall become Royal Physician in due course.
Yes, Gisla, all this lays ahead of you and, together, we can enjoy all life has to offer. On a personal level I'm delighted that you've shown such wisdom in accepting my advances and you have helped to restore my faith in the fairer sex as I had this terrible experience before with this other 'lady', a dreadful harridan of a woman who made my life a misery and it has taken me months to recover from it. Still all that's in the past now and I cannot wait until I see you again this coming month, perhaps a quiet little week or two at my club, a party somewhere or some other social soiree before we can then head back to yours for...well...you know....some serious 'romance'.....phwoooarrr you certainly know how to enthuse a man's passion my darling and when I first saw you in that delightful dress when I called at your home, sacre bleu I nearly fainted. What a stunner Bastian, I thought to myself, this is the lady for you she's so...so...just so perfect, so beautiful and everything!! Plus she comes from Picardy too!
Now, of course, I made enquiries into your background and character ahead of my courting, any respectable noble of the realm would do the same, and I was thrilled to learn that your father is a Comte. Most impressive and, no doubt, he has a large estate somewhere, monies, influence and connections. Your father is exactly the kind of fellow that I'm keen to meet as I'm sure he'd also be delighted to learn that his daughter is now my partner and what benefits that relationship can have for the Chaubert family. Sadly my own father has recently passed away and, in doing so, he has left me without a monthly allowance any longer and I feel that I can never fully forgive him for doing so or that family of mine as if they'd notified me sooner I could have focused my considerable medical skills upon him and preservedmy allowance his life at least some months or years longer. Do they have no idea of the expenses that a man of my standing has to meet, how to stay at the pinnacle of medical acumen a docteur, a noble one at that, needs monies. Pah, I have washed my hands of the lot of them and will only be seeing them once more when I go to pick up my inheritance in the near future. Maybe you could come with me and see for yourself the people I have to call relatives! Far better that I concentrate family focus upon the Chauberts now, they are my true family.
Once we've been to see my family, and picked up the cash, how about we then visit your relatives? I'm itching to see your father's chateau and to discuss with him plans for the future, of course it's never the done thing to ask about finances when one is a stranger but now, since we're a couple, such social etiquette is surpassed by family wellbeing and, pending our future marriage, I'm a firm believer in what's mine is yours and vice versa. Unfortunately, what with father's demise, these high expenses and that 'bung' I had to give to the Royal Steward fellow to ensure there were no 'problems' with my ennoblement to Chevalier mean I'm a little short of funds currently BUT that's merely a temporary inconvenience and something your father need not worry about, he will surely see the potential in his future son-in-law and the great things that, as a consequence, await his daughter and the Chaubert family, and he should be able to see the wisdom in 'investing a few livres' in my medical business. It may be good coming from you if you are able to drop into conversation with your father 'He who sows the seed will reap the harvest', I reckon he ought to get the message that way!
Anyway, that's about enough for now my sweet 'petal of Picardy' as I'm a busy man and I've got to help 'flush out' a certain ViP who has called upon my services and I've also still got to fully scrub off the blood from those last executions, damned peasants that last rogue was what we 'Royal Executioners' call a 'squirter'....not for the faint hearted but it's best I'm honest with you my dearest so you'll need to know these things. To clarify when I say a 'squirter' I'm referring to the top of him and not the lower end, some people get confused which is not surprising as I've had my fair share of those types too, terrible business and messy as...well...let's move on....basically these top end squirters spray their blood everywhere once the head comes off and it's a real swine for my official uniform, takes ages to clean and I'll be glad to finally have a wife who take care of that for me in the future.
Take care darling and I'll see you soon.
Yours eternally,
Bastian
