I'm considering removing the missing characters (Helen, Quintin, Yves) from the Greasy Pole rather than NMRing them.
I still have the records, obviously, so if any of their players do resurface they can easily be reactivated but I know it can be frustrating to try and RP with a character only to find they aren't around!

Could you put them on hiatus somewhere in the provinces or similar? And write something about their "mysterious disappearance", including some gossip about foreign agencies or the like. And if they resurface, well enough and everything simply was a misunderstanding.

How long do PCs remain in NMR before they are removed from the game entirely?
I agree with giving these PCs a little more latitude given the recent hiatus but at some point we need to assume that they can't or don't want to play any more.
I like Guy's suggestion about mentions in the press.
I would suggest keeping them on the GP for as long as NMR status normally allows then remove them. Reinstatement after removal is up to you but I wouldn't object.

Three NMRs.
So yeah, I was definitely going to remove them after that point. If people haven't got back to me after that I think it's fair to assume they aren't in the game! To an extent they've already had that latitude; because of the sudden start I didn't count the last turn as a NMR.
In case it's unclear, parked players are a completely different category. Those are people that have let me know they're definitely still wanting to play but life is getting in the way. I'm pretty easy about letting people park for as long as they need although I occasionally check if they're still wanting to play if it's been a long time!

The one I most treated was, of course, Helen, and I'm concernec agout gaston. He was quie involved in the game, as to just leave it without a word, and he fact you say he also had a game that is also quiet only adds to my concern...
I cannot talk too much about the others, but I guess keeping them "out of play", as Guy suggested, for a couple of turn won't harm anyone. Can yo try again to contact them in the meanwhile?

I think two emails is enough. More than that and it becomes nagging.

By the way, if one of them reemerges any time later with a reasonable cause, I don´t think that Sam or anyone else would be against reentering them the game. Maybe without any appointments or mistresses, but with their former SL, wealth and spouses in case of gaston´s Helen.

Absolutely. Although I think there may be a point where it makes more sense to start afresh, but I can obviously talk that over with them.
If someone remerges after a year they'll have entirely forgotten what they were doing!

As I have posted before I am in Pevans's LPBS En Garde game that Gaston is also a player in and he is still sending in turns for that game. I have emailed him about this game but he has not replied to me so I can only assume he has lost interest and decided to not continue.
