Isn't that exactly what makes the (remaining) certainties of En Garde! so attractive? Don't we all have to cope with far too much random shit, needless delays, unexpected obstacles in Real Life to want to start adding them to En Garde!? Shouldn't EG! remain an escape from RL, where actions do have predictable consequences, rather than an exercise in more of the same in a 17th Century context ?
This is my whole point, really...
