Monsieur le Écuyer Royal ,
According the news from the front, things are not improving, and while our troops have achieved some victories, lack of them seems to be hindering our war effort.
Again, Monsieur, I believe my Company would be better serving the King’s interests in the defense of the Kingdom. I know we are not many men, but sure we can be a troop multiplier as the soldiers of the Frontier Regiments see that King sends his most trusted troops to their rescue, and hopefully we can help to stabilize, or even reduce the pressure in one of the fronts, and so to the whole of our Armies.
Of course, though, and as always, I will submit to your higher decision.
I remain, mon Maréchal, your most humble subordinate and on the wait for your orders
Captail Lagarde de Béarne 4th Company, King Foot Guards (OOC: Huillaume asks permission to volunteer his Company this August).

[OOC: Can influence be applied to Theatre Troop joining attempts ?] [/b][/quote] It's not in the rules, but I don't really see why not. I think Level 2 for the King's Men and Level 1 for the others; it's not that prestigious a position! Obviously, this could mean a terrible actor could brute force their way into a company but that's more likely to damage them then anything.

Since it is more than likely to cause turmoil in any troupe if some new member is forcing his way into it, maybe a malus on the outcome of the next play (by one level or more) on the Skill Check Results table might be considered. This could be mollified by offering the troupe the opportunity to perform on a special occasion, at Court or at the estate of a member of the nobility.

Seems pretty unlikely that someone with a dire Etiquette score would seek a career as an actor in the first place really... Depends on how good - or otherwise - an actor he is doesn't it ? The skill of the actor concerned will effect the outcome of plays he appears in anyway. Good actors will have a positive effect and bad actors a negative effect (though as mentioned above, bad actors are unlikely to seek acting careers in the first place). I don't really see any benefits to adding further complication. Wouldn't such developments here mean that sanctions should be applied to any position which is secured by influence ?

Yeah, I'm not really seeing this as any different than people with bad MA getting command positions.
(And as mentioned, this is highly unlikely to come up unless someone decides to for RP reasons. And that would be a fringe case).
