I'd like to suggest two amendments to them (maybe more latter), both already suggested before:
(comments and reasonings in blue)
20.7:
When the result is Siege and hostility level 6+, roll a die. On a 5-6, it is exchanged by Assault. DMs +1 per consecutive inconclusive siege, DM+1 per Regimental CO and up using aggresive tactics (Glorey or Looting) as per 21.3. DM -1 per Regimental CO and up using cautious tactics as per 21.3. DMs doubled if the Front Commander uses any of those tactics. (alternatively , 1 is always keeping as siege, while 6 is always Assault).
If the Front commander is a PC, he may choose to convert any Siege to Assault, but he has to announce it before the applications date, and any BR of 5-6 may bring additional consequences (be it loss of command, Court Martial even if not in the table, or negative DMs to any such Court Martial).
See that in the tables, the only possibility to go to assault is for a NEW result, requiring an average result of 1-2 (depending on current deployment), followed by an A result. This would represent any Siege to be taken aggresivelly as Assault, mostly if bogging down or most high officers becoming aggresive.
Example: after a month of Siege, the average BR was 3, so the table shows Siege again. A 3 regiments Brigade is conducting the Siege, and the Brigarier has used Cautious tactics, while 1 regiment Commander has gone for loot. THe DMs would be +1 (per consecutive months) , -2 (Front Commander using Cautious approach), +1 (one Regimental COmmander going for Loot), so 0. 1d6 is rolled, on a 5+ the deployment becomes Assault
21.3:
As I pointed time ago, there's no reason not to go as Cautious ,as the +1 to MiD and Loot can easily be overcome by Reckless Bravery (so negating your own cautious DM9. So, using Ca utious and -1 Bravery will in fact give you a -1 to promotion and more medal possibilities (quite better than going for Strategy, if you intend to promote).
OTOH, there's no advantage in going for Glory or Loot ,as the DMs are es easly obtained by Reckless Bravery at -1 , with better overal DMs (as it als ogives you the -1 to what has 0 or +1 by using the tables.
So, I suggest the following side effects (as always, cummulative, so beware your officers ):
Example. After the above Siege Becoming an Assault, the Brigadier decides to go for loot, while the Frontier Regiment CO to become cautious. Renne , having joined the Frontier Regiment as a Captain due to debts, also goes for Plunder. Result is a 3 , so final modifiers for him are:
Who said Assaults were safe? OTOH, if alive and not captured, Rénné will be rich (and the shylocks happy)...

- Cautious: -1 to any MiD worth (minimum 1)
- Glory: +1 to any MiD worth (maximum 6)
- Strategy: -1 per loot die (minimum 0)
- Plunder: +1 per loot die
- Death: 7 (basic) -1 (frontier regiment) +1 (rank), -1 (brigadier for loot) +1 (Colonel going Cautious) -1 (himself going for loot): 6
- MiD: 6 (basic) 0 (frontier regiment) 0 (rank), 0 (brigadier for loot) +1 (Colonel going Cautious) 0 (himself going for loot): 7 (any mention at -1 Sp worth, minimum 1)
- Promotion: 6 (basic) +1 (frontier regiment) 0 (rank), +1 (brigadier for loot) 0 (Colonel going Cautious) +1 (himself going for loot): 9 (if converted to MiD, again -1 SP for it, minimum 1)
- Loot: 6 (basic) -1 (frontier regiment) -1 (rank), -1 (brigadier for loot) +1 (Colonel going Cautious) -1 (himself going for loot): 2 (auto: (4d6+8)x100 crowns ,as each die has a +2)
Who said Assaults were safe? OTOH, if alive and not captured, Rénné will be rich (and the shylocks happy)...
