Invitation to a Wake, Blue Gables, First week of December
Madame Helen Bacque, having lost two cousins over the course of the Autumn Campaign, will be holding a wake in memory of them, their fallen Picardy Musketeers comrades and all the other brave boys who have recently laid down their lives in the service of France and His Majesty.
The event will take place at Blue Gables in the First Week of December. All are invited, whatever their station (with the obvious exception of unrepentant priests spewing poisonous falsehoods about blameless ladies and fellow clerics) and ladies are of course more than welcome..
This being a sober affair Madame Bacque will be eschewing alcohol, but there is no such stricture on any guests who may wish to imbibe (at their own expense).
[OOC, Helen Bacque, SL 8 will be holding a party at Blue Gables in week 1 which is open to all (including SL 1) and their ladies. Guests will be welcome to carouse at their own expense if they wish. Curate Lachapelle will not be welcome unless he apologises for his appalling recent behaviour and withdraws the offensive material at issue beforehand. ]

OOC: Worth noting as a general point that under the new rules if anyone above Helen's SL is turning up it's worth arranging in advance that people will toady to them instead. Otherwise those individuals will end up losing SP!

Otherwise those individuals will end up losing SP! [OOC: For that very reason I'm not expecting anyone of SL9+ to turn up. Helen will lose a SP if Simon Auclair attends (not to say he isn't welcome ) and it would be nice to recoup it from somewhere. Handing off toady SPs to a higher SL guest of honour doesn't make a lot of sense where the host is concerned.]

Chere Mademoiselle, I am desolated that I will not be able to attend your remembrance in December. New come to Paris, I have prior claims on my time that cannot be ignored, and I therefore must regretfully decline your invitation. I trust that sufficient members of Society attend that the memories of the fallen are suitably celebrated. Once I am settled into Parisian life, I hope to make your acquaintance formally.

Madame Helen,
I will gladly attend your celebration and was wondering if you would require a member of the cloth to speak briefly? That is assuming it is your wish and the good Abbe has not already made such arrangements.
Also might I arrange a moment of your time to discuss the coming acquittal of Abbe Robin.
[OOC Are you putting in a blanket allow all toadying order or do we still need specific allow X to toady]

Father Bassee, I would be delighted if you would say a few words at my gathering, and let me take this opportunity to thank you for your efforts in clearing my name regarding the malicious slurs of a certain Franciscan. I'm not sure whether or not Abbé Robin plans to attend, but words of comfort from any man of the cloth would be welcome and I'm sure we might find a moment to discuss the other matter you referred to. Helen Bacque[OOC: Unlike previous wakes held by more prominent (and richer ) characters, there will be no service as such before the wake. All characters attending as Helen's guests will of course be welcome to toady to her. ]

Monsieur Fitzbraose,
I'm sorry that you will be unable to attend my gathering but look forward to making your acquaintance in due course.

OOC: Under the new rules, if it's a party it automatically allows all attendees to toady to the host.
This is mostly so I don't have to check each name individually at big parties!

Cher Mme Bacque,
I shall be delighted to attend the forthcoming wake, a most suitable occasion to honour those of our gallant men who gave their lives for France.
Best regards,
Pierre Flump aka Pierre the Painter
