I think what I'll do here is mostly use Sun King as a base, but only apply the special rules for Guards regiments to Escorts. (This does mean normal members of those regiments will no longer be eligible for court).
(If that has general support among the current member of those regiments. Note that having looked at it, once the court rules are revised non members of Escorts are likely to be at a disadvantage in comparison, mostly because of the rules for notice).

I'm personally OK with any way you take, be it leaving the Guards as they are now, moving to SK rules for them or limit this move to the Escorts. Each way gives different (and interesting) challenges, I just wanted to warn you if you decide to move it might force other changes too (and probably raise some questions).

See that changes on other regiments (non Guards) would also probably require othre chanes in rules.
E.g.; if the names of the regiments mean the provinces, the numbre of Provincial Governors should raise to 8, as those are the "Provincial" Regiments

So that the provinces each of the 'provincial' regiments hailed from would be as follows: French Guard (Burgundy) Picardy Musketeers, Champagne Regiment (Champagne) Brittany Regiment. Normandy Regiment (Brittany) Anjou Dragoons (Loire) Languedoc Regiment, Gascon Regiment (Languedoc) Provence Regiment (Provence) Alternatively it might be better to assign Normandy to the (richer) Loire Province rather than Brittany. That way each province would have its own native infantry regiment.

I was pretty much going to just transfer the provinces over from SK. On top of that, I'm thinking of nicking your provincial rivalry rules. I like the additional rp conflict potential they add.

All of this is what I'm afraid this military overhaul might mean: to force other changes to the rules. - If we give the Regiments a provincial origin, proveinces should be introduced , and probably some changes to appointments (at least the number of governors) should change too...
- if we change the rules for the Guards, rules for court should also be to fit them, and this in time might mean the rules for other abilities (as ettiquete in SK) would be handy...
- If we adopt the hostily rules, probably other rules would be affected too...
- and so on...
Not that I'm against those changes, but I'm afraid those are just some examples of the domino effect they might have (aside from the work it would mean for the GM). Nontheless, if you think they are worth it, sign me to help you i nwhat I can if you need it.

Honestly, you're overestimating the complexity needed.
At the moment, the Provincial rules just add the option for rivalry. As you reference, the most I'll need to do is add a few governor appointments. I may look at expanding the provincial rules in the future, but that's not necessary for this.
Hostility levels are entirely self contained.
Court is the only real major overhaul and those rules were frankly a bit of a mess anyway.
