Col Joshua Chamberlain, commanded the 20th Maine Regiment at the Battle of Gettysburg. His unit secured the left flank of the Union line on the Little Round Top. The regiment's defense and countercharge against the 15th Alabama prevented the Confederates from rolling up the Union's flank.

Yes, I will agree watching Buford and Chamberlain kick rebel ass is pretty awesome! No it isn't!! May I recommend to you instead 'Ride with the Devil' or 'Gods and Generals'....maybe even Cold Mountain (ignore the anti Confederacy stuff!)...or, of course, you can just visit the SCV website for some really good info!

Since I'm marrying a Yankee, I'm having to hide my Rebel sympathies. I blame Sam, its his fault since he just became a Scot, and Sir Walter Scott apparently caused the civil war all by himself. Talking of Chamberlain - is that the guy in Shogun? That's going to be my next 1970's watch. Oh no, a Yankee, can't you convert her somehow?! Chamberlain is the actor.....Richard Chamberlain, I'm sure I read somewhere he is a staunch Southern supporter!
