His private responsibilities sorted Abbe Robin packed his small belongings into a bag and made his way to the harbour.
Still he feared the worst for himself. The stories he could gather from Jesrusalem and the land surronding it made him shiver.
To make things worse, he left paris for a quarter of a year towering depth coming closer with every day. The ignorant young priest that was starting a smearing campaign against him and poor Helen would have all time spreading his fals accusations while he was gone.
A few hours later Francois stept aboard a small vessel that would set sail for the the holy land.
I was much saddened to hear the result of your Tribunal appearance - and shocked at the harshness of the sentence. Was some malign intelligence working against you from the shadows, do you think? Intent on preventing you from giving evidence when Curate Lachapelle appears before the Bishops ?
May God Bless and Keep you on your travels to the Holy Land - and speed your safe return.
may again I feel reliefed from my dire thoughts once I could hear your kind words. I can't say if some influence pushed the triunal in some direction but as we all know there was for sure some foul gossip spread by a black sheep. But let us not speak about such ill meaning individual. I will face the mission and accept it as the test of my faith.
I look forward to share my impressions of the holy land with you and our parisian friends. Please take care about yourself and see that our friends are well.
I hear that it is sensible to boil the water over there and to avoid hordes of kids who may be trying to sell you trinkets! Also avoid any raw foods as you do not want to suffer the 'Jerusalem Jig' as I hear it is called, plus be wary of any unintended insults towards the faith of the infidels as they can get a bit shirty over the slightest perceived trivia. One final word of advice, get a hat of some kind as the sun can cause a man to lose his wits if subjected to it for a lengthy period.
