Monsieur Aiguille,

Thank you again for requesting me to officially open your shop - and especially for the 10 livre discount you gave me by way of thanks.   Really, you shouldn't have - I suspect that in future years I shall be able to dine out on the strength of having opened your very first business premises. 

It was unfortunate that so few gentlemen were able to attend in person, but it was nevertheless edifying to hear that the shop had generated a small a profit in its very first month.  I wish you every success for the future.  

In addition to purchasing the linen and curtains for my new house from Le Manteau de Padarn I have instructed my Housekeeper to purchase all appropriate household supplies from you in the future too.

Shall I see you at the send-off organised for Captain Piquet ?  Perhaps following your lead, Captain de la Azure has kindly requested that I accompany him and serve as hostess for the event.
